Machi asks Pakunoda if he's lying, but she thinks that he isn't, adding that she will check anyway. Pakunoda is quickly joined by Machi, and the two ask Gon if he knows about a Nen user with chains, but Gon says that he doesn't know what they're talking about. Īs Gon and Killua tail Nobunaga and Machi in an attempt to locate their hideout, the two boys are confronted by Pakunoda and Phinks respectively. He then tells them that if Uvogin fails to return by dawn, they will change their plans. After Uvogin's capture and subsequent hunt for the chain user, Pakunoda and the other Troupe members listen to Chrollo as he surmises that the chain user is either a Manipulator or Conjurer and that Uvogin would lose in a one-on-one fight against them. Hours after the other group leaves, Uvogin contacts Chrollo and tells him about the current situation that most likely involves the Shadow Beasts. Pakunoda is among the members who stay behind at the hideout while the others head to the auction. Their leader Chrollo announces that they will steal all the items at the Underground Auction. On August 31 st, the Phantom Troupe members meet at an undisclosed location in Yorknew City. Pakunoda and the others listening to Chrollo's orders She presumably took part in the massacre of the Kurta Clan. Ī few years later, Pakunoda was present during the foundation of Phantom Troupe, along with Franklin, Machi, Feitan, Nobunaga, Uvogin and Chrollo. The three then meet with Chrollo to do the voiceovers to the Power Cleaners videotape he found. One day, Pakunoda meets with Sheila and Sarasa, asking the first one about the book she is reading, to which Shelia replies that it is Dino Hunter. Chrollo comments that she "reads them like a book." Even in childhood, the others notice how well she understands people, seemingly reading their minds. In Chapter 395 of the manga, Pakunoda is shown to be a childhood friend of Chrollo and other members of the Phantom Troupe. Pakunoda originated from Meteor City, a junkyard city inhabited by outcasts. In her younger days, she is shown to be kind and caring towards her friends. She was impressed by their refusal to escape so that the deal between the Troupe and Kurapika could be made with no further bloodshed. Two notable exceptions were Gon and Killua. Like the other members of the Troupe, she did not care at all about those who do not belong to the group. Pakunoda was very loyal to the Spider as well, sacrificing herself so that her comrades could know about Kurapika's abilities. She even went against the Troupe and Chrollo's own, saying that the survival of the group comes before the survival of the individual (including the leader) in order to rescue him. Pakunoda exuded an air of self-confidence that could be intimidating to others. ![]()
